SynergyAspen regularly calculates Site-specific standards following BC MECCS Protocol 2 for Contaminated Sites. This method is not proprietary to SynergyAspen; however, not many companies are using the protocol to calculate Site-specific standards.
The numerical soil standards in the BC CSR were developed for Sites in southwest BC using soil and environmental conditions that are not applicable to northeast BC. By simply updating some of the default values in the BC groundwater protection model to values specific to northeast BC, we can calculate Site-specific sol standards that tend to be higher than the default standards, but are still protective of the environment (e.g., the soil standard for chloride in soil increases from 100mg/kg (drinking water), to 250mg/kg).
